Navajo Code 4/1

Ya Teeh!
So really quick we've been asked as a mission not to use people's names so I will just be using the first letter of their name. :) So this week the bugs of Blanding showed themselves. We had a Brown Recluse Spider in our home and we are discovering lots of cockroaches. It's been pretty interesting ever since we found that Brown Recluse... :)
Monday after e-mailing we went and played sports for our P day. Before we went and played sports I NEEDED a haircut. Since I can't get my usual haircut I got a 4 on top and a 2 on the sides and it's still to freaking long, hahaha. :) We started of with playing volleyball with one of the other Elders Investigators. After they left we played Ultimate football which I did pretty well in, after that we played soccer... ya that only lasted about 5 minutes :D I made sure I only scored half of the goals. After P day ended we went down to White Mesa and taught a Recent Convert family and the lesson went really well. We then went and meet with one other family and started to read the Book of Mormon with them.
On Tuesday, we did some tracking and contacted some people that the Bishop asked us to contact. One of the people we contacted was an elderly man, J. He has short term memory loss and asked us to help him find a large amount of money that he had missed placed. We looked for about and hour and were unable to find it. Right before we left he offered one of the most humble and sincere prayers I have ever heard. We had dinner at the ward mission leaders house and then had an appointment with B & S. They always have such good questions about what they are reading! They are doing so well! We then went and visited with B. B is a young native american who is a slow learner but a really nice but shy person.
Wednesday we meet with A & T. They are really great people. Their conversion stories are amazing. They had to do with revelation about one of my personal favorite paintings. It's the picture of George Washington Praying at Valley Forge. We had dinner at the 1st counselors house. Wednesday and Thursday were really slow days because all of our planned appointments fell through. But life goes on and we learned stuff we could do better on.
Thursday we had Zone Training. So I got to see, talk with, and throw a frisbee :D with Elder Provard. We are both doing great and really enjoying our missions. In Zone Training we learned about being humble, being a type 3 missionary or a charitable missionary, and how to teach simply. That night we had dinner with the Elders Quorum President. I was messing around on the piano and they asked me to play a song, so I started to play Cristifori's Dream and he knew it and named the song! It was great I just wish I could play the whole thing. But all well I'll get there. :)
Friday we did a lot of tracking we got 13 TTI's which is a lot for Blanding. (TTI = Teach Testify and Invite, they have to be a none member to count as well.) In a normal day here we try to get 3 TTI's. We only had a single lesson which did not go well because the people we were teaching were very distracted by their kids, we didn't even get through half of our lesson. So we have a plan on how to help them and get to listen. :) We were also able to go and visit G who took us to the canyons behind his house and showed us the ruins and caves and told us a little about the area. IT WAS GREAT! With him and his wife right now we are just trying to become friends cause they are really great people! We had dinner that night with an young couple in the ward. And I had Lava cakes for the first time. They were... interesting. :)
On Saturday we meet with J. He's super smart and intelligent and we love meeting with him. He asked questions that he helped us answer, it was AWESOME! After lunch we went over to one of the other Elders investigators to cut some wood. This is the same person who was my first appointment as a missionary. The same one who has the 3 German Shepard's. :D I freaking love those dogs now. I got some pictures with them and will be sending them home shortly. :D After that we had another appointment with B & S. Wow they are great! They are reading on their own and have good thoughtful questions about what they are reading. I'm so excited for the people they are becoming and the blessings they will receive!!! We had dinner with and older couple that night.
Sunday was interesting. The stake president has asked all the sets of missionaries to be at all the meeting for all their wards or branches. So Elder Edwards went down to White Mesa and I stayed in Blanding. It was really weird but I'd better get used to it because we'll be doing it a lot more. :D After church we were eating and we watched "On the Lords Errand; the life of Thomas S. Monson" I learned some really cool stuff about him. :D We had dinner with the A's, they feed us every Sunday, and then we had an appointment with B & S again. Can I just say I love meeting with B & S. They are such great people and have really come a long way even since I've been here. They have such a great spirit about them. After that we had to go home so Elder Edwards could call the District and get numbers so Elder Amott and I got to talk. I freaking LOVE Elder Amott. I look up to him as an older brother. He has such good advise for me and he's super funny. He's made me cry by laughing so hard SEVERAL times since I've been here.
I'm Curious to know what everyone's favorite Hymn is. Write me and tell me what it is and why it is your favorite.
I freaking love being on my mission and I'm learning so much! Until next time, Hagonet!
Elder Chipman
